Back and Better than Ever...

Hello again Hampton Roads archivists, librarians and information professionals!

Thank you to everyone who has called and emailed for your interest in our fledgling social group. Five brave souls attended our first meeting on very short notice in October and enjoyed wonderful conversation and delicious snacks at the Boot. Unfortunately as you know, we dropped off the map in November after the Nor’easter. We haven't given up - we've spent the time thinking of ways to make Librarians On Ice better.

Thanks to your extremely helpful feedback we've reached the following conclusion - instead of meeting every second Thursday or Tuesday, let's meet on the 15th of every month, regardless of the day of the week, and adjust the time to best fit with the day and meeting place. As a field, Librarians work a variety of schedules, and this arrangement will offer more opportunities to attend to a number of people. I'll shortly post the 2010 schedule of meetings and send out an email and flyer for the first meeting on January 15 at the Boot from 5:30 on. I look forward to seeing you there!
